Puppy Report for 23/12/11

Just to keep everyone up to date and on the same page

This week they have started doing all the right things like opening their eyes and as at yesterday one started trying to stand on her feet.  To-date they have got around by a sort of breast stroke as they use their feet as a type of paddles to row their way round and they are now 3 weeks old and their weights range from the smallest at 664 grams to the biggest at 850 grams.

With eyes open they look so different and they are so cute as they try and stand up and their rear feet just slide out from under them but it will only take a few more days and they will stand up and then the fun is on.

Just now Honey has gone and got into the box to do what we would do when checking the nappies as she cleans them up and they try and manoeuvre to get to the milk bar and keep chasing her as she moves around checking each and trying to avoid their locking on to a tit.  They spend their entire time still just sleeping and drinking with a small amount of time moving about stretching their legs and we are keeping the food, minerals and specials like Chlorophyll, seaweed meal for all their multi vitamins and minerals in an organic plant base that’s easy to digest and absorb, cod liver oil and a special mix of honey and apple cider vinegar that helps increase their calcium levels in their circulation.  This is not just for puppies bone building and milk supply but also for Honey her self as we want her to be just as well supplied after she is finished feeding in 2-3 weeks time as she was at the start.  We also supplement Honey with a rather expensive calcium mixture that normally improves her calcium but what we do here also increases hers and all their immune system.

If we don’t keep their minerals up to the mum and particularly Calcium, magnesium, Boron, vitamins A, C, B complex, Iodine and Copper (cancer is so very rare in people and pets with good copper levels in their system it also has many other benefits in trace amounts but the ground food grows in is leached of copper as a result of artificial fertilisers) (It also is essential for their absorption of the minerals and vitamins during pregnancy and lactation the mother usually get run down or low in one or more of these and that isn’t good for her health.  The Vets tell me that the problems from calcium deficiency are not pretty in the slightest.

This attention to simple detail is something we should be catering for in our own lives and our children’s diet if we are to help them understand nutrition to build strong immunes, for instance just measuring the ph. of our urine every few days we can tell when we are in a condition to getting the flu well before any symptoms and using the recipe with cider vinegar mixture can correct it and stop it in its tracks.  Using this I don’t have flu shots and have only had a day of sniffles when people all round me are dropping for weeks with the flu.

Please I’m not giving too many details just now because my background is in engineering and business and I don’t wish to give medical advice that could leave me exposed to legal ramifications because I have no medical training or license to do so but as we get closer to delivery I will tell you just what I do that builds up the dogs immune and later again I’ll be producing a series of Video seminars that will also share how I with no medical background and using engineering logic defeated a 6 months prognosis back in 1993 then corrected a heart problem in 1995-6 because my hip was so bad it needed replacing then the Surgeons didn’t want to operate as they all thought my heart was in such a bad state I had less than a 50/50 chance of surviving.  By November 96 it had so improved that there was a completely successful operation with no heart risk.  This doesn’t usually happen only gradually deterioration.

Again in 1999 Arthritis had deteriorated to the point I could no longer support my body on crutches and was assigned to a wheelchair for life never to walk again and today you wouldn’t know I’d ever had Arthritis.  Again I had a similar victory over prostate cancer and all this info will be the subject matter for the various videos in the above video seminar series including lectures given from the very world class scientists that were my source of the information I used to find the cause of the problems and eliminate the cause then seeing the problems disappear and by providing the body the nutrition needed to starve the disease and strengthen the body and immune it became the healer and self healed, it will also tell how to keep the dogs in 100% health naturally.

These lessons were first learnt in a Natural Pet Care book and adapted to humans (me) after I adapted it to suit me from the dogs it was simple putting it back where it came from and the purpose of telling you this is that if you would like to be advised when these video’s are available and the first months will be free to try before you buy, then just let me know sending an email subject  “WELLNESS VIDEO SEMINARS” and I’ll be starting a list of people who want it but don’t want to force it on anyone.

Back to this weeks growth and changes whilst examining Honey we discovered the little ones have teeth coming through and they have made big claw marks on her chest around the tender parts of her udders.  This indicates they are getting teeth and Julia checked and her tummy is in a scratched state.

These events usually lead to mum loosing interest and starts the weaning process but hopefully she will soldier on for another 2-3 weeks by which time their little teeth will be big sharp teeth.

Well that’s about all the happenings with the little ones this week and over the next weeks they will just get more and more cute and desirable.

You will note that they try and stand up and keep slipping on the paper also the photo is them asleep and we can understand why they are so very close as they sleep this close to their siblings so when we get them home to make them feel so loved and wanted is vitally important with plenty of cuddles and sleeping by the bed in their new box so that you can lean over when puppy wakes up and is lonely.  The toy we give you will be dirty but have all the smells of their siblings and is of immense value for puppy to feel not so alone.

The photo above and below are the same pup#2 on weights spread sheet just the angles differ.  Whilst it's there on them all the angle here shows a unique framing of their eyes in the fur shape and some have a lighter colour around the eyes that still may happen as colour sometimes changes considerably

This is the first of #3 and from here on there is no flash and these are closer to their real colour.

This is easier to see the framing around her eyes from this angle, this is the last of #3 she is also the heaviest at 940 grams whilst #1 is the lightest at 738g these weights are an update on the above that are a few days ago.  Now I know they are all doing well unless I notice some change in one or suspect mum's milk is starting to go off and they need supplementing I only weigh them every few days now but as I said above I suspect Honey isn't real impressed with their sharp little claws and teeth as she's out of there quick smart and all her tummy is scratches particularly around the nipples so you ladies will know all about how that feels and I am nursing her using a cream used on milking cows for cracked tits as it aids healing and is good for rashes (don't tell anyone but I used it on a rash I had and it was great).

Once again enjoy Christmas and the new year, we are having a quiet one this year, just us for a change.

I am looking at 4 beautiful and healthy little girls just busting to get their eyes and ears open in the next week – ten days so they can see the big world out there.  At the moment they only know the whelping box with hot wheat bags that help keep them warm at night.  They get waited on hand and foot with a walking milk bar that comes to them and they hungrily tuck in for their feed before falling off with full warm tummy and a nice warm mum to cuddle into what more could a new puppy want.

Mum cares for every little detail and grand parents (Julia and I) take care of mum keeping all the good food up to her so she makes great milk for them.  Mum even checks out back sides and bladder levels regularly and licks them to start them going then takes the collection outside to dump it well away from the box, when all said and done puppies haven't learn't to use toilet paper do they ah?

Most of the rest of the photos are taken side on so you can get an idea of size and colours although this litter are very well conformed but here we go.

First up here is a little girl born 1/12/11so now 12 days old and as you can see her eyes are just slits.  They love to sit on our laps like this especially when older and I take them in the car to get them used to car travel from very young.  I suppose it is warm but more it is personal direct contact and they can hear our heart beets (developed I’ve seen it in dog information websites that a dogs hearing and smell are something like 1,000 times more sensitive than ours) so they would hear our heart beats, pulse and love to come with me and here and feel mine and help out when they get a bit older.

Here we see 3 bogging in and one had her fill and rolled off to sleep.  Get a minds eye an image of the size of them maybe measuring them against Honey’s leg or something for future reference.

This one is a special for you to see their eyes at this stage are just like closed slits and their ears look like they are chock a block full of wax.  It’s not that but looks like it

Here is the same little girl An you can note that the colour is affected by the intensity of the flash, angle of the pup to carry the light from the flash and bounce it off at different angles, so affecting the colour.

Here is the same girl at a different angle but similar angle for the rest so you can compare more easily.

This little girl was 194 gms born and this morning was 490, that’s 253% of her birth weight.  (Now 4 days later she's 590gms)

This little tart was 202 Gms born and is 556 now and no we never hired a hit man but let’s say that the she’s been a guts both in and out of the womb always asking for more and more.  (4 days later 16/12/11 she's 700gms)

This little girl was just started out at 229gms and now is sitting on 480and doing fine.  You can start to see the waves in her fur around the neck that are the indicators of her future curls or waves and as she grows they will fade into waves. (Now 4 days later and she weighs 570 Gms)

This little girl started out at 207 gms and is now 468 gms .  (Now 4 days on and she is 616 Gms)

If you look at the waves that look like rolls but are all fur on her legs and face again a positive sign of the rag doll look as her fur grows out and fills in.

An interesting feature we always enjoy is as her fur grows it goes into curls or waves.  If brushed regularly say once a week that maintains it but if it is left for maybe once a month it will take so much longer it’s not worth doing.  Some do it daily or weekly for 10 minutes and it looks so silky smooth and shiny but that is not what I’d buy a low maintenance dog for.  If you want that buy a poodle.  The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a fairly low maintenance but the Cavoodle or our combination certainly brings a new meaning to the word.

Some folks with a boat take theirs everywhere and when they go over to the Island and swim their little boy dives right in with them rolls in the sand and has a wonderful time chasing seaguls etc.  When they get back to the boat they have a fresh water hose in the aft cockpit and throw it over on to the landing platform, hose him down and he dries out on the floor of the cockpit before allowed inside, How easy is that, they hose down so does he only he has a bit more fur to dry out.

Well that’s it for this week, hopefully we are over the hump from last week and there is a week untouched ahead.  I trust this festive season will bring much joy and pleasure playing Santa etc. not to mention the Christmas parties so till the end of next week have a great time and the days are counting down.

I took them round to a Girls Training place locally where we are involved with and they just went beserk, head over heals over these little charmers and all wanted to keep them.

When they cuddle in they just seem to mold into our arms, chest, lap or where ever.
  They are specifically bred to be human companion dogs and they excel at that job with excellence.

The next little movie really shows how these little ones respond to Pat's affection they return our love for them several hundred percent.

Some photos of Ella which I have been meaning to send for years.

I take Ella to netball on Saturday and this lady came up and said she had a dog exactly the same. Turns out she has one of yours from Gabby – called “Honey” about 6 months younger the Ella.

She brought her to netball the next week and they are identical!

Just an image update on our Isabel and her Honey.

Isabel is 10 now and quite grown up.

Honey is still wonderfully puppyish in nature although she’s a solid 6.6kg

We think she due for her second birthday August 12th this year. Is that correct?

She loves people and always gets comments,  compliments and plenty of pats from those we meet on our walks.

I have just stopped work for a while so Honey’s getting more walks.

Trust you are all well and happy. We are interested to hear your plans for future breeding although we think one dog is enough for us for now.

Our “Honey” Born 12^th Aug 2007 to your “Gabby”

I met another of your pups last week at our daughter Isabel’s Netball comp at Croydon in Sydney.

I couldn’t believe how much this dog looked like ours so spoke to the owner – turns out it was one of your Honey’s pups from around April 2008. They call her Ella.  Lovely dog & owner – didn’t get her name. I will get a photo if I meet her again at Saturday Netball.

We have a friend considering getting a dog – wondering if you have new pups on the way??

Here is the two dogs to compare.


They were from our girls, one from Honey, the other from Gabby with the same father and both absolutely spoilt and loved to the max.  They said that their dogs stood out, both couldn't get over the coincidence of meeting via their daughters interests in the same sport and both with one of our bred dogs.  Take particular note that the first cross looks nothing like either mum or dad but when they put dad back over an offspring to save buying in another breeding mum some breeders particularly those breeding for pet shops where they need to simply produce numbers they often take a short cut and keep some females back to put Dad back over his daughters and granddaughters and so on gradually inbreeding to such an extent till they get strange puppies that have to be put down.  This is what the article from the RSPCA below is about.  The above is becoming a real problem and not just with the puppy farms but also pedigree dogs that the owners want to keep certain characteristics of the two parents and want a show special.


Our whole concentration in breeding is health and temperament.

he was staying at my parents yesterday, while i was working and they are in a flat

it was raining heavily so they took him down for a quick wee but he didn't have time for his morning poo so he ended up have an accident in my mums room. poor puppy was very upset. so this morning the 2nd i opened the door he bolted onto the front lawn and squeezed out the quickest poo i have ever seen, just in case he gets stuck again!

This email is as a response to a call for help from one of the people who bought a gorgeous little girl and had a stroke so that wouldn't be a good result for one of our Clayton"s Kids so we took her back and onsold her to another couple who gave her a beautiful loving home, good result all round especially for little Alice.  The following is an email from the owner of Buster when she got my call for help.

Buster’s sister - the puppy - is still looking for a new home, and I can now absolutely 100% assure everyone, that our little Buster is the best puppy EVER!!!! He is very smart, very strong, very brave around torturing toddlers, sleeps through the night, eats well, is easy going, and the vet said a perfect example of a cavoodle. He can already use the doggy door, and has very few wee/poo accidents, instead taking himself to his training pad when he needs to pee/poo. Even in the middle of the night! So proud!

Whomever gets to home this beautiful girl will be very happy – I promise!

Please send out again to everyone you know, so she can be with her family soon – must be sad being the last puppy left of a litter!

I’d love to have a matching pair but you know who will NOT allow it!!! Stinky husbands!!!!

 This is an article presented by Planet ark concerning the degree to which the trade in what I call sausage factories puppy where they churn out puppies like they were sausages in the UK.  They usually have good adds sell them at a reasonable to cheaper price and basically con the market.

In Australia it is still there but not as sophisticated as they are so often hidden in small enterprises in and under peoples houses with from 4-5 breeders up to 50-60.  They often have the breeding females and sire dogs vocal cords removed (a cruel thing to cover an illegal activity) so they don't annoy the neighbors and tip off the local councils (this also includes registered breeders of pedigree puppies).  Their adds resemble a legitimate breeder who like us is fully licensed and council approved.

RSPCA Warns of "Puppy Trafficking"

The animal welfare charity said trafficked puppies risked having illnesses or behavioural problems
making them unsuitable pets, and said owners needed to know where their dog came from.
In a test it conducted, out of six puppies it purchased, two were found to have potentially fatal illnesses.
One, a King Charles spaniel, died after two weeks.
The RSPCA said 73 percent of vets were now concerned about the trade in puppies while it had
received more than 700 calls in 2007 about puppies that had become ill after being purchased or were
not as described in adverts.
Mark Evans, RSPCA Chief Veterinary Adviser, said some dogs were used as "breeding machines",
producing litter after litter which were then passed on to unscrupulous traders or sold to unsuspecting
customers.
"The RSPCA believes that many are likely to have been exposed to disease and may become seriously
ill, or even die, within days or weeks of entering their new home," he said.
About 1,000 puppies are imported from Ireland to Wales every week before being sold on, the RSPCA
said. However, just 2 percent of owners believed their pet was from Ireland.
Evans said prospective owners needed to do their homework before buying a puppy, and advised them
to go to rescue centres or respected breeders.
"Puppy trafficking is a despicable, profit-driven business," Evans said. "We want the dog-loving public to destroy the puppy trafficker's market."

Week 6 Progress Report

After good intentions of photographing the entire process of the birthing process to both video and share with you the entire process and help the children the miracle of birth.  Unfortunately during early birthing the camera just died and went right out of focus then died totally and the video camera ordered got lost in the post but fortunately did get a shot of the puppy still in the sack and her cleaning up, the last very shot.

With a new computer getting the new software and trying to learn how to use it has taken me much longer to work the program and still aren't there yet but here is a rough video to share because I wanted you to appreciate the temperament and affection this combination has for people who love them.

As rough as it is I just trust you can watch to the last segment with the English lady in the red top who just loves puppies and how her love for him is returned with interest.  Also note the section where it shows how even at this early age they are clean and don't want to defecate in their sleeping area going to the outer edges of the whelping box to do business.

When you get your pup home you have options how to train puppy what you want them to do when needs arise, if you say put newspaper all over the floor so they go on the paper until you get it down to the last piece then shifting it gradually out the doggy door and on the to the grass then removing the paper.

The alternative is what the women seem to do better than us blokes is to keep an eye on them and taking them out every hour or so and after they wake up and when they have had a big meal taking puppy out on to the grass and saying poos or wees whatever you want to call it and huge encouragements when they do it seems to get the message through and saves many accidents and messes to clean up.

Here is the first video.  This was taken so you can see and hear the serious sucking noises and  pandemonium especially at meal time.

 

This video above and the photos below were shot when the puppies were being used as therapy dogs as they are just so intuitive when someone is sick and they love to get on the bed or couch and snuggle into your side as warm as toast and send you off to sleep and sleep close to you.  

On her days off Julia often goes on to the bed with our two girls, she under the blankets and they on top of our doggie sheet cuddling into her back and sending her back off to sleep.  She says it is so relaxing you just can't help drifting off.

A gorgeous young male shows his distinctive yet subtle colours, when he sits up the white chest, little beard, love spot in the middle of his forehead, white socks, white tail end and a cheeky face this little chap will always be a most distinctive boy making his masters so proud for many years to come and return so much love it is quite astonishing.  No wonder every one of our owners are so happy and proud of their four legged mates and we maintain a friendship for years and so many of our pups find a good home with their friends and family.

And just look at that face a little beard, white socks, under neck and 4 white socks

Just want a little cuddle, that's just one of the jobs a good companion dog is all about

Little Raffi returns Pat's affection with kisses and kisses to her absolute delight.  Here is another trade mark of many of our puppies notice the lighter colouring that frames their eyes and red tinge showing through around their face and ears, not to mention their beautiful soft low shedding, low allergy fur.

Robin's enjoying her cuddle.  This little chap will make a perfect lap dog, both enjoying a personal relationship together.  Other larger pups will be just as happy going for a 5K run with teenagers.

I try and do a 2 K brisk walk each day and they really love it and are great company too, taking it in their stride.

 

 Doesn't matter whatever is on, they are just as happy so long as they are with one of us, the objective of our breeding is to breed a companion dog that just wants to be in close human contact and is happy as can be to be in touch.  This is not just genetics but the time we spend with them to humanise our puppies with the time we spend with them and as this young puppy already shows that they expect every human contact to be a pleasant experience and one to look forward to.  Whether lying on Robins chest or sitting on her arm right from a very young puppy shows that they just love being in our company and return our affection to them 10 fold just as little Raffi shows in the how he responds to Pat in the video above.

Birth of a Baby Puppy 3 Weeks Old

These photos were taken this week their third week of life and they are reaching toward 3 times their birth weight.  Gabby their mum is a beautiful mum as placid as possible but becomes a lioness in protectiveness when a stranger comes near.  We have had her on high mineral, nutrition including correct protein, calcium, magnesium and potassium in particular together with naturally occurring vitamins to ensure that our mum's requirements are fully met and she has the reserves to put into the pups all their needs without depleting her own.  This is important if we are to keep our little girl healthy and strong.  Gabby has started this week back on our daily walks to keep her fit as well.

Here Gabby is lying on her warm wheat bags and has her charges snuggling into her, the wheat bags and other siblings.

The milk bar is open for business and the mad scramble is on.

Gabby is actually standing up and has just got into the box to clean them up collect their pees and poos to keep her nest clean and they have latched onto her hanging off as she goes from one to the next.















Here is a close up of how they sleep when she is there.  They are only just getting their body temperature control working this week and next but theu will always huddle three and sometimes four deep to keep each other warm and conserving energy so it can go into their growth.

I am at the moment in the midst preparing a nutritional coaching course to help people reverse things like Arthritis, cancer and heart disease as I have personally followed top world class scientists who have had difficulty getting their findings put into practice after extensive pier group reviews and other scientists repeating their work in other universities around the world without making headway.  The problem seems that there is no money to be made using these  natural means of killing the disease rather than treating the symptoms as the heavy players in the sickness industry do.  Regardless having found this information it has saved my 6 months death sentence, totally reversed arthritis from the wheelchair, never to walk again, cleaned up prostate cancer and many other diseases and today at 70 and healthier than I was in my 40s.

It is these same (or similar) nutritional principals that I am applying to the puppies and their parents and as my prognosis has gone from 6 months to live to longer than normal in just 15 months 20 years ago I have extreme confidence in the health potential it affords our puppies and to say we set them uo for a long healthy life there is good evidence behind that claim.

Here is another stand up shot of the little ones hanging on for grim death to get as much milk as possible.

A Mother's love here she is giving her baby a cuddle as they sleep with full tummies.  This is the sort of thing we notice and the same loyalty we get from our dogs, every one that's the nature we have built into them and part of what we set out to breed as ideal companion dogs.





I am disappointed that after the camera died during birthing and the new one takes great stills and HD movies but they are too hungry on memory to be able to download from our tiny country exchange as they certainly add a new dimension and will try and do a DVD ready for when you take delivery of your new family members, "the new house ruler."

The Birth of a Baby Puppy

Gabby is a very placid mum who just takes things in her stride normally but when she has a litter she becomes a Lioness toward anyone or other dog protecting her little ones.

This time she was huge and the first slide we see she had to lay on her back to get comfortable.  When we put our hands on her tummy we could feel the babies turning as if they were fighting.

The day after this photo was taken she delivered her babies and the fun began.  She had them all naturally with minimum interference from us.

The second puppy born I was able to capture the photo of a puppy still in it’s sack before Gabby had broken it and started licking it to get it both dry and that gets the puppy breathing. One of the puppies didn’t want to start and I had to do expired air resuscitation on it and fling the little pup holding it so as to not put it’s neck or head at risk but to get all the liquid out of it’s mouth, nostrils and inner pipes that carry air then blow into it’s nose and it started squealing  and is now a healthy little bundle of joy.

 As can also be seen there is a lot of fluids around and the papers are changed between births as much to keep mum dry when she lies down to take a nap as it is for hygiene.

  One very tired little mum and she has 5 out and one to come. She is tired and wet and has the puppies on her tit getting that good stuff mum has before her milk comes down and that kick starts bub’s immune system as well as so much else. Doesn’t she look just
pooped.


 Unfortunately my camera died during the birth and I have just got a replacement so these were taken by a friend at about ten days old so you can imagine how small they were at birth.

 Kids seem to really relate new born animals and we often take young puppies about 8-10 weeks old to our local nursing home and the oldies are just as excited, actually it's good therapy as they just forget their problems and give out love to the little baby and reminisce of their past animals.

This is at 10 days old and you can get  better idea of size as it sits in a young lady's hand, you can also see puppy has everything there only in miniature. I just love seeing these tiny features only in miniature, look at the feet pads and claws on his feet.

At this stage the eyes and ears are still shut but as at today 3rd June they are just open and today we say the first attempts by one to stand on the feet.  Once that happens and later next week they will be able to see, they start wandering around the pen so it has to have high sides added to keep them in.

We are very particular to get the genetics right and just as particular to prepare mum for the pending pregnancy.  In cattle breeding we refer to it as getting them on a rising plane of nutrition and after Christmas we started building up their body mineral content with a special recipe for minerals the famous old country Victorian Vet worked out 50 years ago that helps prevent arthritis, heart, cancer and many of the diseases our over fed pets suffer from today giving puppy the best start in life as well as making sure that our mum doesn’t become calcium deficient  or loose condition as we want to protect them as well.

It now seems quite possible that with these minerals and the special diet we can breed out of our girls and their puppies the disastrous medical problems in so many pets today.

I have personally had serious genetic problems and overcome them all naturally without drugs or surgery, been given 6 months to live in 1993, told I would never walk again, overcome Prostate cancer, depression and a host of other stuff enough to say that no way should I be here and more healthy at 70 than I was at 50.  It was a result of researching the causes and what some others did to effect a cure then trying it on my old German Shepherd who was wracked with arthritis and when it didn’t do anything for Ben went on with the next experiment.  When it worked I tried it on myself then Reason: as one year in our time is equal to  7 in a dog’s life there for results show up 7 times faster in dogs than humans and we cured Ben to the degree that the afternoon before he died at 14 he chased caught and ate a rabbit.  After I saw results in Ben I then tested it on me and eventually completely overcame every disease as they manifested.

It is vitally important to me that our girls art as healthy as possible and avoid every disease we see in so many pets.  Pets bought from breeders that churn them out or aren’t as particular can cost many times their purchase price and finish up with a sick little dog.  To this time we have always bought in our dogs so there couldn’t be and in breeding like so many show breeders do but by being careful and following these principals I am convinced we can breed out the genetic risks in many breeds and are researching this now.
